The Phoenix Suns have had plenty of different representatives on Twitch as they play out the rest of their regular season on Twitch, and this time, the Phoenix Mercury will be represented.
For the first time, it will be the Mercury on the game, with Brittney Griner controlling her team Saturday night. She will be taking on the Seattle Storm’s Jewell Loyd.
The 6 p.m. tip-off will be taking the place of the Suns’ previously scheduled game for that night against the Utah Jazz.
Previous names to rep the franchise on the Suns’ stream of regular season games include the Arizona Cardinals’ Chase Edmonds, the team’s own Frank Kaminsky and Phoenix Rising FC defender Owusu-Ansah Kontoh.
Griner is a six-time All-Star and two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
The WNBA announced that the start of the season, originally slated for mid-May, would be delayed due to the spread of the coronavirus. The league will still hold a virtual draft on April 17.
