D-backs sign pitcher to minor league contract

The Diamondbacks announced Friday they have signed left-handed pitcher Ron Mahay to a minor league contract.
Mahay, 39, had a 1-1 record with a 3.44 ERA, eight walks and 25 strikeouts in 41 relief appearances with the Minnesota Twins in spring training last season.
Mahay opened last season with Single-A Fort Myers, posting a 1.93 ERA, one walk and four strikeouts over four games.
He has spent parts of 14 Major League seasons with eight teams and has a 27-12 record with a 3.83 ERA, 266 walks and 470 strikeouts in 514 career games.
