...

Much of the talk around major league baseball has been about the All-Star voting, particularly one current D-backs first baseman.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t talent at the minor league level as well.
The D-backs’ young talent was on full display Tuesday in the Southern League (Double-A), California League (Single-A) and Midwest League (Single-A) All-Star games.

Let’s see how they did:

Southern League All-Star Game (Double-A)

All-Stars from D-backs organization (Mobile BayBears):

Socrates Brito, outfielder

Brandon Drury, infielder

Aaron Blair, right-handed pitcher

Adam Miller, right-handed pitcher

Only two of the D-backs farmhands saw action in the Southern League All-Star game, and neither started the game. Brito came in as a defensive replacement and went 0-for-1 at the plate, striking out in his lone at-bat. Miller only faced one batter to open the eighth inning, picking up a strikeout. Drury and Blair did not see action as both were called up to Triple-A Reno, and the South All-Stars fell 9-0.

California-Carolina League All-Star Game (Single-A)

All-Stars from D-backs organization (Visalia Rawhide):

Daniel Palka, first baseman

Zack Godley, right-handed pitcher

John Omahen, right-handed pitcher

Nick Sarianides, right-handed pitcher

Godley got the start Tuesday in the All-Star game, going 0.2 innings and giving up a run on two hits while allowing a walk and striking out one. Sarianides struck out a batter while throwing a perfect eighth inning. Palka and Omahen did not see action, but the California League picked up the 9-2 win.

Midwest League All-Star Game (Single-A)

All-Stars from D-backs organization (Kane County Cougars):

Colin Bray, outfielder

Marty Herum, infielder

Cody Regis, infielder

Ethan Elias, right-handed pitcher

Cody Geyer, right-handed pitcher

Markus Solbach, right-handed pitcher

Bray and Herum each picked up starting spots for the West Division All-Stars, going 0-for-3 and 0-for-2, respectively. Herum was replaced by Regis, who also went 0-for-2 in the game. Solbach entered the game in the sixth inning, going a perfect two-thirds of an inning. Elias faced one batter in the seventh, picking up the strikeout. Geyer came in with one out in the ninth inning, striking out the only batter he faced in the Western Division’s 5-0 loss.
