...

The Arizona Diamondbacks are now three games below .500 after a 4-2 loss to the San Diego Padres.

The Padres got started early with an RBI double from first baseman Yonder Alonso in the bottom of the second inning.

The break in the game would go in favor of the Padres when D-backs catcher Wellington Castillo committed a throwing error on a stolen base attempt by the Padres. The throw to third base went into the outfield and the Padres Cory Spangenberg scored to make it 3-2 Padres.

The D-backs offense could never get going, amounting to only two hits in the entire game.

Padres starting pitcher Tyson Ross went six innings, giving up only two runs and two hits. The Padres bullpen allowed zero hits and one walk in three innings of relief.
