The Arizona State secondary gets some good news and some bad news as they prepare to take on UCLA on Saturday night.

Safety Evan Fields will not play for head coach Herm Edwards, while cornerback Chase Lucas will be available, per DevilsDigest.com.

On offense, wide receiver Bryan Thompson and running back DeaMonte Trayanum are both suited up to play in the important Pac-12 South matchup.

Wide receiver Johnny Wilson will miss his first game of the season for the Sun Devils. He ranks third on the team in receiving yards and fourth in receptions.

Fields, in his fifth season with the Sun Devils has recorded 16 tackles, 10 solo on the season. Last year against UCLA, the safety had five total tackles in a 25-18 loss.

Offensively, Trayanum is a big boost for the ASU backfield. He has six rushes for 52 yards and two touchdowns in one game this season.

He has missed the last three games for ASU with an ankle injury.

He joins a backfield bolstered by Rachaad White, Daniyel Ngata and quarterback Jayden Daniels, who have all rushed for more than 200 yards this year.

Kickoff for the game is set for 7:30 p.m.

Catch all the action on ESPN 620 AM or 98.7 FM HD-2.
