Arizona State cornerback Chase Lucas is 5-0 against Arizona.

He has been a part of all five Sun Devil wins in their current winning streak versus the Wildcats after Saturday’s 38-15 triumph in Tempe.

Lucas took in the moment with a victory lap and brought the cup into the student section.

He hoisted it it up in a sea of gold shirts.

After his endeavors in the student section, Lucas sat down in front of reporters with the cup.

“It’s like a dream come true,” Lucas said. “I used to come to this game as a little kid. Just seeing the rivalry, the fights, the going out and people taking all the time, it’s just what makes this rivalry such a good thing.”

Lucas returned to ASU for a sixth season (including a redshirt 2016) this year as the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The veteran cornerback has been a fan favorite since his redshirt freshman season in 2017 when he made the Pac-12 Second Team.

Taking moments after Saturday’s win with the fans was a big deal for him.

“I just try to take all my time with them because you’re never going to get these moments back, man, ever,” Lucas said. “I’m glad I experienced everything that I did, and I love the fans, always.”

He led his team with seven solo tackles, one for loss, in his final home game in Tempe.

Lucas also said that the job is not done. ASU finished the regular season 8-4, so the longtime Sun Devil will have one more bowl game to prepare for.
