No, the MLB and MLBPA haven’t come to an agreement to end their lockout.

That hasn’t stopped those around Major League Baseball from evaluating this year’s batch of spring training lids, though.

Taking a look at all 30 MLB teams, TheScore ranked the best and worst hats this spring, with the Arizona Diamondbacks landing at No. 17.

After finishing first on our 2020 list, the D-backs take a step back as they shift toward a focus on red. The snake always looks cool but moving away from the color black wasn’t a good move.

Much like the rest of the MLB, the D-backs’ spring training hat has a trucker-style mesh back.

The D-backs opted for a nearly completely red look, however, featuring the team’s snake logo on the front.

Luckily for Arizona, the D-backs didn’t hold the worst spot in terms of the NL West.

That belonged to the San Francisco Giants, who at No. 28 went with a large “G” along with the team’s usual “SF” logo on the side.

The Los Angeles Dodgers came in a spot below the D-backs at No. 18, while the San Diego Padres were a few ranks higher at No. 14.

Taking the NL West spring training cake at No. 6 is the Colorado Rockies, who went with an all black hat with purple outlines on the logo.

The top spot in terms of the ranking, however, belongs to the Seattle Mariners, who opted for their compass logo.

Unfortunately for those looking to see those hats in action, they’ll have to wait.

MLB said Friday that spring training’s earliest start will be March 5 as the MLB and MLBPA continue to negotiate. The original date for spring training was slated for next Monday.
