The Seattle Seahawks are going to have a much, much different look come the 2022 NFL season.

The Arizona Cardinals’ NFC West divisional foe informed eight-time All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner they will be releasing him, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday night.

The report came just hours after Seattle reportedly agreed to trade Super Bowl winning quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for a return of draft picks and three players.

In the 2012 NFL Draft, the Seahawks used their second round pick (No. 47 overall) on Wagner. Their next pick of that draft would be Wilson at No. 75.

Wagner would go on to play 151 career games in a Seahawks’ uniform. He registered 1,383 total tackles including 68 tackles for loss and 23.5 sacks.

The linebacker would be named to First Team All-Pro six times during his tenure in Seattle to go with eight Pro Bowl selections.

Wagner also had a knack for getting his hands on the ball, snagging 11 interceptions to go with nine fumble recoveries, including six forced fumbles.

In the 2021 season, Wagner tallied 170 total tackles, the most he’s recorded in a single season. The 31-year-old linebacker will now hit the open market.

Joining the Seahawks on the same day, Wagner and Wilson also leave the organization together 10 years later, signifying the end of an era.
