Former Arizona Wildcats guard Dalen Terry is remaining in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Despite having eligibility to return to Tucson as a junior for the 2022-23 season, the Phoenix native announced his decision on Tuesday via social media:

“It’s been a life-long dream of mine to play at the highest level,” Terry wrote. “After many conversations with the people closest to me, I’ve decided to remain in the 2022 NBA Draft.

“Wildcat nation, I cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me. Just know that I will be a Wildcat forever.”

The Hillcrest Prep (Gilbert) product is projected to be selected in the first round and some even have him ranked as a top-20 prospect.

Terry played in 37 games as a sophomore last season and averaged 8.0 points on 50.2% shooting and shot 36.4% from three.

He also racked up 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 steals over 27.8 minutes per game, all of which were career highs.

And during Arizona’s Pac-12 Tournament and run to the Sweet 16 — a six-game span — Terry posted an average of 12 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.8 steals over 35.2 minutes per contest.

The guard marks the third Wildcat to declare for the 2022 NBA Draft in addition to 2022 Pac-12 Player of the Year Bennedict Mathurin and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Christian Koloko.
