The Arizona Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season Friday, and it has cost them in the national polls.

The Wildcats (6-1) fell to 19th in the AP Poll and 14th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Last week they were 11th and 10th, respectively.

Arizona struggled in their opening game of the Wooden Legacy Classic but was able to knock off Santa Clara 75-73 in overtime. However, the next night they lost to Providence 69-65, costing them a chance to face Michigan State in the tournament’s championship game.

Sean Miller’s team bounced back Sunday with a 68-59 win over Boise State — their second victory of the season over the Broncos — a game in which they looked both good and bad.

Through seven games Arizona is led in points and rebounds by senior forward Ryan Anderson. The Boston College transfer is averaging 16 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, and has posted three double-doubles.

The Wildcats’ next game will be Saturday in Spokane, Wash. against Gonzaga. The Bulldogs (4-1) are ranked 13th in the AP Poll and 12th in the Coaches Poll.
