ASU’s Jamal Miles ‘a weapon’

Oct 4, 2011, 2:18 AM | Updated: 6:48 pm

He’s the only college player in the nation to have
returned a punt for a touchdown, a kickoff for a
touchdown, thrown a touchdown pass and caught a touchdown
pass.

“He can do it all,” said quarterback Brock Osweiler.

“He’s a weapon,” said head coach Dennis Erickson.

He is junior wide receiver Jamal Miles; and on Monday he
was named PAC-12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

Miles accounted for 249 all-purpose yards—including a 78
yard punt return for a touchdown, in Arizona State’s 35-20
win over Oregon State. It was the first punt returned for
a touchdown by a Sun Devil since Terry Richardson returned
a punt 71 yards for the score on November 25, 2005.

“I’ve been around some pretty good athletes,” Erickson
stated. “He’s probably one of the better all-around
football players I’ve ever been around.”
