The University of Arizona football team jumped just one placement higher in the latest AP Top 25 poll, but perhaps more importantly, the Wildcats moved ahead of in-state rival Arizona State.
After winning comfortably in a shootout with Washington State on Saturday, Arizona moved from 15th in the AP national poll to 14th.
ASU actually dropped one spot Sunday to No. 15, despite fending off the Washington Huskies on the road 24-10 Saturday night.
When it comes to the Amway Coaches Poll, the two programs are actually flipped: ASU comes in 14th, and UA ranks 15th. Those are the same positions they were in prior to their Saturday victories.
ASU (6-1, 4-1) next hosts No. 19 Utah on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Arizona (6-1, 3-1) hits the road to play No. 25 UCLA on Saturday night.
