The Arizona Wildcats open Pac-12 play hosting No. 9 Washington, and they might do so without their starting quarterback and running back.

Quarterback Anu Solomon (knee) and running back Nick Wilson (ankle) are listed as questionable on the weekly injury report released on Thursday.

Solomon has been out after injuring himself in practice following a season-opening loss to BYU. Brandon Dawkins replaced him to lead Arizona to wins against Grambling State and Hawaii. Against the Warriors, the sophomore showed some improvement from a hit-and-miss debut, completing 16-of-21 passes for 235 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Dawkins also rushed 15 times for 118 yards and three scores.

Meanwhile, Wilson took three carries before hurting himself in the Saturday victory against Hawaii. This, following 138- and 116-yard performances in the first two games.

Freshman back J.J. Taylor took over at running back and rolled up 168 yards on 18 carries, including a 61-yard touchdown run.

Head coach Rich Rodriguez told Tucson reporters this week that Arizona will be careful not to put too much on Taylor, who is now the top option if Wilson isn’t able to play.

The Wildcats kicked No. 2 back Orlando Bradford off the team last week after he was arrested, and they have added running back depth by moving slot receiver Tyrell Johnson into the backfield for full-time work.
