The Arizona Wildcats are gaining some recognition throughout college football after receiving votes in Tuesday’s AP and Coaches’ Polls.
The Wildcats received four votes in the Associated Press rankings and one in the Coaches’ poll, building upon the lone vote they received last week from the coaches.
Arizona impressed in Friday’s 58-13 win over the UNLV Rebels, dominating offensively while setting a new school-record with 787 yards of total offense.
The win was a great start to Anu Solomon’s career with the Wildcats, as the freshman quarterback threw for 425 yards and four touchdowns.
Arizona found success in the running game while looking to replace Ka’Deem Carey, the school’s all-time leading rusher in yards and touchdowns. Terris Jones-Grigsby set the tone with 124 yards and a touchdown, while freshman Nick Wilson racked up 104 yards and a touchdown on an 85-yard run in the 3rd quarter.
The Wildcats visit the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners for their next game on Thursday at 5 p.m.
