Arizona Wildcats’ Stanley Johnson named Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of Week

Arizona Wildcats forward Stanley Johnson was named the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week following his performances in UA’s three games at the EA Sports Maui Invitational last week.
Johnson, a freshman, earned tournament MVP honors after averaging 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game in the Wildcats’ victories over Missouri, Kansas State and No. 15 San Diego State en route to the tourney championship.
Johnson tallied 18 points and nine rebounds in the championship game against the Aztecs, and he hit four free throws in the game’s final minute to preserve the Wildcats’ 61-59 win.
