Sale has been scratched from his start against the Detroit Tigers after he was involved in what the team says was a "non-physical clubhouse incident." The White Sox declined to describe the incident, but said it's "currently under further investigation by the club" and that Sale was sent home from the park. (AP Photo/Ted S. Warren, File)

Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale was scheduled to start Saturday against the Detroit Tigers until he was scratched from his start.

At first, the baseball world thought the pitcher, who’s name has been circulated in possible trades had been dealt.

However, it wasn’t a trade for the reason for him being scratched from his start, instead, it was his refusal to wear the throwback jersey the White Sox were scheduled to wear that night.

And that’s when the baseball world started having fun with this story.

And if that wasn’t enough, apparently Sale’s outburst also upset the baseball gods and other gods.

News of Sales refusal to wear the throwbacks even reached the pressbox of Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark where some thought the Diamondbacks’ could be in line for the pitcher.
