Four Arizona Cardinals were available in the 2015 Pro Bowl Draft, which is to be played Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
All four — Patrick Peterson, Calais Campbell, Justin Bethel and Antonio Cromartie — were drafted to Team Carter, which is captained by Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter.
Bethel, a special teams standout, was assigned to Team Carter on Tuesday, prior to the official draft in a “pre-draft.”
Selected to his fourth straight Pro Bowl, Peterson was the first to come off the board among Cardinals players when he was taken fourth overall by Team Carter. The 24-year-old cornerback was the first defensive player to be taken in Wednesday’s Pro Bowl Draft, which aired on NFL Network from the Arizona Biltmore.
Peterson played in all 17 games for the Cardinals in 2014-15, recording three interceptions and 43 tackles.
Campbell went next and Cromartie was selected soon thereafter, to complete the Cardinals-Carter aligning. Campbell, a first-time Pro Bowler, just completed his seventh season in the NFL. His seven sacks were second among Cardinals defenders in 2014. Cromartie will be appearing in his fourth Pro Bowl, after recording four interceptions in all Cardinals’ 2014-15 games to go along with 46 tackles.
