Yahoo! Sports’ Robinson on Adrian Peterson saga: ‘There are a lot of bridges to be napalmed’

It seems like a lot has happened with regards to Adrian Peterson over the last few weeks, but the truth is nothing has.
Peterson reportedly would still like to be traded, with his agent refusing to even meet with Vikings management.
The Vikings, apparently, have no plans to cut their star and little interest in trading him.
And the Arizona Cardinals, who have been linked to Peterson should the Vikings acquiesce to their running back’s request, are still looking for a running back.
So here we are.
“For the Vikings to have asked to meet with the agent, they’re trying to patch things up,” Yahoo! Sports NFL reporter Charles Robinson told Burns and Gambo on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Tuesday. “It means that they’re trying to say, ‘hey, how can we get Adrian back in the fold?'”
Robinson said if the team had any intent of looking to making a trade they would have asked to meet with another team, like the Cardinals, instead of Ben Dogra, Peterson’s agent. Dogra turning down the invitation, he said, because he knew any conversation between him and the Vikings would be centered around keeping the running back in the Twin Cities.
The thing that changed, however — or maybe just escalated the situation — was the report of the agent turning the team down going public.
“Once he did that, then the battle grounds had been drawn,” Robinson said. “Both sides dig in, both sides insist that they’re going to get what they want. Dogra and Adrian Peterson are saying, ‘We’re going to get out, we want out, that’s just how it is.’
“And the Vikings are saying, ‘We’re not going to be publicly bullied because now it looks bad if we just cave to you. It looks like, essentially, our best player — and really any of our players — can force their way out by just saying you know what, you’ve got to trade me.'”
