The Arizona Diamondbacks have their All-Star outfielder back. A.J. Pollock was reinstated by the D-backs Tuesday after missing nearly 50 games due to a groin injury.

Pollock was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right groin strain on May 15 and then had a quad issue come up a month later while playing in his second rehab game for Triple-A Reno.

Surprisingly, since Pollock’s last game on May 14, the D-backs have been on a tear, going 31-13 without him.

Since coming back from the quad injury in Triple-A Reno, Pollock has played in five games for the Aces, making it a total of seven rehab games.

One of the most valuable players on the roster, Pollock was sensational in 2015 for Arizona, hitting .315 with 20 home runs, 76 RBI and 39 stolen bases. He played just 12 games in 2016 after having elbow surgery in April of that year and then returned, only to strain his groin in early September and miss the rest of the season.
