Diana Taurasi is putting together another great season, and because of it, she earned her eighth career starting selection in the WNBA All-Star Game.
The game, similar to the NBA All-Star Game in which minimal defense is played, was won by Taurasi’s Western Conference team 130-121.
The Phoenix Mercury guard tallied 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc and five assists. It resembled exactly the kind of year she has put together, where she widely leads the league in three-pointers made with 64 on the year. The next closest to that total is Connecticut’s Shekinna Stricklen with 48 three-pointers made.

The game was played at KeyArena in Seattle and drew some interest from some big names in other leagues.
LeBron James tweeted out his congrats, while Isaiah Thomas seemed to enjoy the game.
Congrats to All the All-Stars in Seattle that will be showing out!!! @WNBA #ThisIsWhyWePlay #StriveForGreatness🚀

Of course, when Richard Sherman made an appearance it had to be in style, so when he showed up in his Los Angeles Lakers jersey, it was notable.

Sherman apparently wasn’t a fan of his seats, however, and reached out to the Mercury guard to put his foot in the door for any future needs.
Obviously I need to go through you to get better seats next year @DianaTaurasi lol

The Mercury made sure to quickly reach out and offer up great seats the next time he’s in Phoenix.
I appreciate that

Mercury center Brittney Griner also earned an All-Star selection, but she was forced to miss the game because of an ankle and knee injury.
