The Arizona Diamondbacks are fighting for a spot in the National League Wild Card Game — but it is never too early to look ahead to 2018.
The D-backs released their 2018 schedule Monday, and it includes a plethora of intriguing inter-league opponents and as usual, plenty of games with the division rival Los Angeles Dodgers.
For the seventh consecutive season, the Diamondbacks will open the regular season at Chase Field. For the second time in the last three years, Arizona will square off with the Colorado Rockies on Opening Night on March 29 at 7:10 p.m.
The first series of the season concludes Saturday, March 31. After opening April with an off day on Sunday, the homestand will continue with three games against the Dodgers from April 2-4. The D-backs will open their road slate with nine games against the St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants and the Dodgers.
Five of the Diamondbacks’ first eight games in May are against the Dodgers. In addition, Arizona will open interleague play the first weekend in May against the Houston Astros in Phoenix. The Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers are the other American League teams slated to play at Chase Field.
The Diamondbacks’ first series against the Chicago Cubs is slated for July at Wrigley Field. The D-backs will welcome Chicago to Chase Field in September for a three-game series beginning September 17.
