In a week, where (in his own words) he became a legend, Arizona Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby also received an award.

The 36-year-old was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week Wednesday following a history-making performance in a 20-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Dansby had seven tackles, a sack, two quarterback hits, two passes defensed and an interception — which was the 20th of his career and basically sealed the win for the Cardinals in the fourth quarter.

In grabbing his 20th pick, Dansby joins Seth Joyner, Wilber Marshall, Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher as the only players in NFL history to accumulate 40 career quarterback sacks and 20 interceptions.

It’s also the first time Dansby has won a weekly NFL award in 10 years. He won the defensive honor in Week 10 of the 2007 season, when he was in his first stint as a Cardinal.

Dansby joins wide receiver J.J. Nelson and running back Adrian Peterson as members of the Cardinals who have earned weekly honors this season. Nelson won the offensive award in Week 2, while Peterson took it in Week 6.
