Tempe ‘A’ turns Navy blue

It’s pretty customary for football fans visiting Tempe to scale up ‘A’ Mountain just west of Sun Devil Stadium with paint brushes and rollers in hand to turn the normally gold letter to their own school colors.
It’s not customary for that to happen when there’s not a football game going on in Tempe.
That didn’t stop fans of Navy, who “customized” the ‘A’ to their own liking in advance of Saturday’s Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco, which marks the first-ever meeting between the two teams on the gridiron.
