King Felix rewards catcher for perfect game

It’s not uncommon for a pitcher who throws a no-hitter to reward the catcher that helped him achieve the feat.
Seattle’s Felix Hernandez definitely subscribes to that theory. King Felix threw a perfect game last August against the Tampa Bay Rays — a game that was caught by John Jaso.
The rub is, Jaso no longer plays for the Mariners. He was acquired by the Oakland A’s in a three-team deal in the offseason.
About 90 minutes before Jaso’s A’s faced Hernandez and the Mariners on Opening Day, the pitcher presented his former teammate with a Rolex watch as a token of his thanks.
In the game, Jaso managed a one-out double in the third inning off of Hernandez in the Mariners’ 3-0 victory — one of only three hits the former Cy Young winner allowed on the night.
Something tells us this won’t be the last time King Felix has to buy a watch for a catcher as a token of thanks for a no-hitter.
