There many things we can learn from this story, but chief among them is that you don’t want to make Twitter bets that you are not willing to pay off.
Case in point: Atlanta Falcons receiver Roddy White.
On Tuesday, White was asked by someone how far he thought Duke would go in the NCAA Tournament. His answer? “Championship.”
One of White’s followers saw that, and decided to tweet to him that No. 14 seed Mercer was going to pull off the upset.
White, who disagreed, was so confident in the Blue Devils that he decided to make a bet with the fan.

Needless to say, when Mercer pulled off the 78-71 win, White had some ‘splainin to do.
I lost a bet and I will give him tickets to the bears game since he is a bears fan done with this bet

So apparently it’s all settled. Good.
