The Arizona Cardinals re-signed inside linebacker Josh Bynes on Friday.
The deal will be three years with a maximum value of $10 million, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport
Before joining the Cardinals’ defense in 2017, the seven-year veteran out of Auburn spent three seasons with the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens.
Last season, he played in 14 games — starting in one — for Arizona. Bynes made 24 tackles to go with 1.0 sack, two forced fumbles and one interception.
After being signed on Aug. 5 of last year, Bynes made his presence known just seven days later, leading the team with seven tackles in a preseason win over the Oakland Raiders. He also had 0.5 sacks, a tackle for loss, a forced fumble and a pass defensed.
With Bynes returning, Arizona avoids having to fill another hole at inside linebacker as it faces losing Karlos Dansby.
The Cardinals already lost outside linebacker Kareem Martin to the New York Giants in free agency.
In his career, Bynes has 163 tackles and two interceptions through 78 games (29 starts)
