After going 3-7 in their recent 10-game homestand, the Arizona Diamondbacks are looking for a strong road trip before the All-Star break.

Luckily, the trip starts with a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver, where the D-backs have proven their ability to win dating back to last season.

Arizona defeated the Rockies 5-3 in the first game of the series Tuesday thanks to David Peralta’s three-run homer in the seventh.

And with the second game of the series Wednesday night, we decided to take a look at Arizona’s dominance in Colorado, by the numbers.

9

The D-backs have won nine straight games over the Rockies while on the road dating back to June 21, 2017.

Overall, they have won 13 of their last 16 regular season games over Colorado.

The streak is the longest in an opponent’s stadium in franchise history, beating the previous mark of eight games at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

That streak over the Phillies, which went from July 17, 2016 to April 14, 2018, was broken back on April 25 when the D-backs fell 5-3.

8.9

The D-backs are currently averaging just over two runs per game this season. But throughout the course of their nine-game winning streak at Coors Field, Arizona has averaged 8.9 runs per game.

Their highest run total throughout the course of the win streak is 16, which they accomplished last season on June 21.

Their lowest run total is five, which has occurred twice (Sept. 3, 2017 and July 10, 2018).

15

D-backs first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has enjoyed the hitter-friendly ballpark that is Coors Field throughout Arizona’s streak.

The six-time All-Star has 15 RBI on 15 hits over the course of his 36 at-bats in Colorado.

Goldschmidt has been impressive after a rough start to the season.

The 30-year-old is slashing .319/.402/.669 this season for the D-backs, who have a 1.5 game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the NL West.

6

If there is one pitcher for the D-backs that enjoys playing at Coors Field the most, it may be Zack Godley.

The right-hander has been impressive in his three starts over the course of the D-backs’ streak.

Godley has only given up six earned runs on 12 hits in 18.2 innings. He has retired 23 batters and walked nine.

.298

The D-backs have one of the lowest batting averages in the MLB as a team this season at just .226.

But while at Coors Field, their average improves to .298.

Some of it may come from the thin air in the Mile High city, as it allows the ball to travel at a further distance.

But whatever is helping the D-backs walk away with victories against the Rockies in a heated NL West race, they’ll gladly take it.
