Looking for potential upgrades to the receiver room, the Arizona Cardinals plan to work out veteran Kendall Wright on Wednesday, reports 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro.

The seven-year NFL veteran spent last season with the Chicago Bears, where he pulled in 59 catches for 614 yards and a touchdown. Wright, a 2012 first-round pick by Tennessee, spent the five previous years (2012-16) with the Titans.

He has 3,858 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns in his career. Wright’s second season was his best as he accumulated 1,079 yards on 94 receptions.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound inside receiver spent training camp with the Minnesota Vikings but was cut on Sept. 1. He recently worked out for the Washington Redskins, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Cardinals have struggled offensively with quarterback Sam Bradford passing for 243 yards through two games this year. Larry Fitzgerald has reeled in 15 catches for 104 yards, but rookie Christian Kirk is the only other receiver who has made a catch.

Kirk has caught five passes for 31 yards.

Second-year pro Chad Williams, fourth-year veteran J.J. Nelson and undrafted rookie Trent Sherfield have yet to catch a pass.

Backup running back Chase Edmonds is second in receptions with nine catches despite limited playing time this season.

Arizona head coach Steve Wilks has maintained he is pleased with the receivers on the roster and put more blame on Bradford and the offensive line, though he has also made it clear that the team will continue to look at available free agents.
