During a six game losing streak it can be easy to lose faith in a team philosophy, but Sunday’s 19-13 victory over the St. Louis Rams showed that Cardinals players have not abandoned hope on the the season.
“We’ve got so many young guys that are trying to do it the right way and when you have a win like that is validates all the hard work you’ve put in,” head coach Ken Whisenhunt told Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf.
Having lost four games by four points or less during the six game slide, Sunday looked like more of the same old story for the Cardinals.
“It’s been tough, it’s never easy,” Whisenhunt said, “guys have been fighting and the way we lost some of the games that we’ve lost makes it even more difficult because you’re so close.”
It has been a season full of close losses and what-ifs and a six game losing streak was salt on an open wound.
“The guys stayed together the whole time,” Whisenhunt said. “They’ve been fighting and struggling and it was so nice to get one for the team.”
