The Arizona Diamondbacks have shown interest in former Milwaukee Brewers reliever and free agent Joakim Soria, according to MLB.com’s Jesse Sanchez.

Per Sanchez, the D-backs are one of several teams interested in the veteran reliever.

The 34-year-old Soria started the season with the Chicago White Sox, racking up 16 saves and 40 total appearances for a 2.56 ERA before being traded to the Brewers in late July.

In Milwaukee, Soria appeared in 26 games for a 4.09 ERA, allowing 10 earned runs in 22.0 innings. He made seven postseason appearances.

Soria came up with the Kansas City Royals in the late 2000s, saving 42 games and making the All-Star team in 2008, only his second major-league season. He has played for six different teams.

The D-backs’ bullpen was up and down in 2018, being one of the best in the first half of the season before falling off in the second half. Arizona did not tender Brad Boxberger, who was the team’s closer for most of the season.
