Pro Football Focus ranked Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson as the 60th-best player from the 2018 NFL season.

At the end of every season, PFF looks back on the previous season and ranks the top 101 players from that year.

For those rankings, PFF bases the list on player performance from that year alone.

The PFF analyst team provided Peterson’s 2018 ranking along with this description:

Peterson was at his usual, stingy self in coverage, ending the year with a fifth-ranked 83.7 coverage grade and an 82.5 passer rating allowed. Peterson has been a model of consistency since day one; he’s one of five cornerbacks who have allowed a sub-100.0 passer rating for eight straight seasons, and he joins Chris Harris Jr. and Desmond Trufant as the only three corners who have allowed less than a yard per coverage snap for four consecutive seasons.

In his only year under former Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks, Peterson played more zone defense than in his previous seven seasons in the NFL. The 28-year-old also saw a slight decline in his numbers as he recorded two interceptions, a fumble recovery and defended five passes over the course of 16 games this season.

Peterson was named a Pro Bowler in 2018 for the eighth time in his career. With that selection, Peterson joined Hall of Fame running backs Jim Brown and Barry Sanders as the only NFL players in history to be named to the Pro Bowl eight straight years before their 29th birthday.

Peterson makes his fourth appearance on the annual top 101 list after just missing the cut at the end of last season.
