The Arizona Cardinals added Don Shumpert to the offensive coaching staff and Rusty McKinney as a defensive assistant coach on Tuesday, the team announced.

Shumpert will help fill the offensive staff as a participant of the Bill Bidwill Coaching Fellowship, following other participants Levon Kirkland and Terry Allen.

Shumpert was an assistant with the New York Giants last season and spent time as a wide receiver in the NFL with the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs.

In college, Shumpert played four seasons with Iowa, which was also where he got his coaching start as a graduate assistant helping with wide receivers and special teams in 2016-17.

The Bill Bidwill Coaching Fellowship was first introduced ahead of the 2015 season. It was created to provide more opportunities to incorporate diversity into the Cardinals’ coaching staff.

McKinney will join the staff following three seasons as the defensive quality control coach with the Miami Dolphins.

He was also an intern with the Cleveland Browns in 2014-15.

His college experience includes five years coaching at Division II Bentley as a special teams coordinator, linebackers coach and defensive coordinator in 2013.

He was a linebacker at Towson, an FCS school, earning All-Patriot League honors as a junior and senior in 2000 and 2001.
