A ranking of the 100 best players in college football now has Eno Benjamin’s name on it.
Sports Illustrated ranked the Arizona State junior running back as the 42nd best player in the country.
Benjamin is so far the only Sun Devil to appear on the list, which has yet to reveal its top 10. It’s likely Benjamin is only the ASU player on the list.
Here’s what the site had to say about Benjamin’s placement:
Benjamin carried Herm Edwards and the Sun Devils last season by rushing for 1,642 yards and 16 touchdowns on a whopping 300 carries. Benjamin runs with tremendous vision and balance, and his durability will be paramount for ASU this with quarterbacks Manny Wilkins and receiver N’Keal Harry gone.
That vision and balance, plus the numbers, could result in Benjamin being selected in the early rounds of next year’s NFL Draft.
Benjamin is the seventh highest ranked Pac-12 player on the list as Oregon’s Justin Herbert checks in at No. 11 overall so far. The Ducks quarterback is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
