ASU’s Benjamin, Arizona’s Schooler make preseason All-Pac-12

Arizona State Sun Devils running back Eno Benjamin and Arizona Wildcats linebacker Colin Schooler represented their respective schools on the preseason All-Pac-12 First Team, which was released Wednesday after media members voted on all-conference squads.
The Wildcats were also represented by running back J.J. Taylor, who made the preseason first team list as an all-purpose return specialist.
Taylor made the All-Pac-12 Second Team as a running back, while ASU center Cohl Cabral also earned second-team mention.
ASU sophomore linebacker Merlin Robertson made the second team list, as did Sun Devil placekicker Brandon Ruiz. Arizona State offensive lineman Zach Robertson and defensive back Aashari Crosswell were honorable mention picks after earning four or more votes from media members.
Benjamin enters his junior season after accumulating 1,642 yards on 300 carries (5.5 yards per carry) last season. The 2018 All-Pac-12 First Team selection added 16 touchdowns on the ground and two more as a receiver.
Schooler recorded 119 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions during his sophomore season in 2018.
Taylor joined Benjamin as the two running backs who made the Pac-12 First Team at the end of last season. He rushed for 1,434 yards on 255 attempts in 2018, scoring six touchdowns.
