Hines Ward could leave Pittsburgh, is Arizona an option?

Pittsburgh-West could be adding another member next
season.
“Anyone who thinks Hines Ward will retire hasn’t been
around him much,” Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-
Gazette writes. “He plans to play in 2012, whether it’s
with the Steelers or somewhere else.”
According to ESPN’s NFL rumors page, that somewhere
else could be Arizona, as Steelers may decide to part
ways with veteran wideout Hines Ward this offseason, and
it would not come as a shock to see the Cardinals express
interest in the former Pro Bowler.
That is, if he’s ready to put his dancing and acting
career on hold for a little while longer.
After all, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt knows Ward well,
and while the receiver is clearly on the decline, his
veteran leadership and dirty play
toughness could be a good fit in Cardinal red.
Then again, the Cardinals maintained all last season that
they were pleased with the progress of Andre Roberts and
Early Doucet, who each hauled in more receptions than Ward
in 2011, and unlike the 35-year-old may still have their
best years ahead of them.
