ASU football’s last few weeks have been tough.
The Sun Devils were riding high after a clutch win over Washington State, putting them at 5-1 on the season. But three straight losses thereafter put them at 5-4 and only 2-4 in conference. That’s not a recipe for a great season, especially when one of the three remaining opponents on the schedule is current No. 6 Oregon.
Last year, the first season in the Herm Edwards era, ASU went 7-6 and played in the Las Vegas Bowl, losing to Fresno State by a score of 31-20.
The Sun Devils will have to win two of their remaining three games to reach the seven-win mark that is often considered the benchmark for bowl eligibility. Those games: at Oregon State, vs. No. 6 Oregon, vs. Arizona.
