Towers: We can contend now

Not many people saw it coming, plenty more still do not believe it, but the Arizona Diamondbacks are playoff contenders and will likely be buyers at the July 31, trade deadline.
“The resources are there,” D-backs General Manager Kevin Towers told Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf. “It’s just about making sure we are a legitimate contender [and] I think we’ve proven that, in the N.L. West, we can contend now.”
The Diamondbacks and Giants are the two best teams in the N.L. West and will likely compete all season for the division crown.
