The Arizona Cardinals released cornerback De’Vante Bausby on Monday, the team announced.
The cornerback was signed by the team on Oct. 30.
Bausby recorded one tackle in Arizona’s 34-31 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. He saw a total of 16 snaps on defense (26%) and four snaps on special teams (14%).
With Bausby no longer on the roster, the Cardinals have Dre Kirkpatrick, Jace Whittaker and Kevin Peterson to pick up the slack opposite Patrick Peterson.
Whittaker recorded two tackles in the defeat, while Kevin Peterson added a tackle.
Byron Murphy, who missed Sunday’s contest after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, could also be back in the fold for Arizona’s Week 10 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday he was hopeful both the cornerback and outside linebacker Devon Kennard would clear COVID-19 protocols to rejoin the team.
Murphy has started five games for the Cardinals this season, registering 24 tackles, two for losses, one sack, four passes defensed and a fumble recovery.
The Cardinals also have Prince Amukamara on the practice squad if needed. Amukamara has been working himself back into game shape since joining the team on Oct. 13.
