D-backs interested in Wandy Rodriguez, but deal unlikely

PHOENIX – With Jason Marquis most likely done for the season with a fractured fibula, the Arizona Diamondbacks are once again looking for a starting pitcher to fill out the back end of their rotation.

According to Sports 620 KTAR’s John Gambadoro, Arizona is looking into Houston Astros’ starter Wandy Rodriguez.

Arizona does have interest in Wandy Rodriguez but deal unlikely to happen as asking price of prospects & salary coming back is too highless than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

Rodriguez has been a respectable pitcher for Houston this season compiling a 8-9 record with a 3.50 ERA on a bad Astros team.

Rodriguez would probably be an even better pitcher than Marquis, but again it would cost Arizona a lot in terms of top prospects, something the organization has already said they wouldn’t part with.
