Cardinals’ DeAndre Hopkins flips the bird to ref after pass interference call

Emotions were running high in the Arizona Cardinals’ 2020 regular season finale.

With starting quarterback Kyler Murray hobbled by a first-quarter leg injury, the Cardinals had to turn to backup Chris Streveler for the majority of Sunday’s 18-7 loss.

Down 15-7 in the third quarter, Streveler attempted a deep pass to Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

The catch was made, but Hopkins was flagged for offensive pass interference after jostling with a Rams defender for position. The 40-yard pass play was nullified, leaving a visibly frustrated Hopkins on the other end.

Arguing with the referee, Hopkins let his emotions get the best of him, flipping the bird at the official and earning a 15-yard penalty on top of the OPI.

The Cardinals would fail to come away with points and instead had to punt away.

Following the loss, the All-Pro provided his two cents on the matter.

The team did see some good news in the form of Murray’s return in the fourth quarter.

The quarterback returned to action in the early in the fourth quarter after missing most of the game due to injury.

Unfortunately for Arizona, the return was not enough.
