The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A team for the Arizona Diamondbacks, took a 2-1 series lead in Game 3 against of the Southern League Championship Series against the Jackson Generals Thursday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.

BayBears’ third baseman Matt Davidson delivered a two-run walkoff home run in the 10th inning off Generals’ pitcher Jonathan Arias to give Mobile the 4-2 win.

The Generals looked to be on the verge of victory behind star pitcher Taijuan Walker, who held the BayBears scoreless through 5.1 innings of work, allowing only one run on five hits and striking out nine. But, Walker was removed from the game with a finger injury with one out and one runner on in the fifth and two-run lead.

The BayBears managed to tie the game at 2-2 when Chris Owings and Davidson scored on an error by Generals infielder Brad Miller with two outs in the eighth inning.

The BayBears bullpen combined to hold of the Generals, keeping them off the scoreboard through the last three innings of play. Eury De La Rosa earned the win after recording the final two outs of the game.

Mobile is now one win away from a second consecutive championship and will look to finish off the Generals and the season on Friday night at home.
