ASU wide receiver D.J. Foster was ranked fifth on NFL.com’s list of “College football’s 15 most versatile athletes,” released Tuesday.
Foster, who will be transitioning from running back to wide receiver full-time in 2015, is the only active player in FBS with more than 1,500 career rushing yards and 1,500 receiving yards.
Foster was ASU’s second-leading receiver in 2014 while also posting his first career 1,000-yard rushing season, and he has caught a pass in each of his 40 games as a Sun Devil.
“There simply isn’t a more dangerous pass catcher out of the backfield in the country,” NFL.com’s Chase Goodbread said of Foster.
The list includes several of college football’s biggest stars, including Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller and TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin.
The Pac-12 was the most-represented conference in the list, with six players.
The four players listed ahead of Foster in the list are South Carolina wide receiver Pharoh Cooper, Boykin, UCLA linebacker Myles Jack and USC wide receiver and cornerback Adoree’ Jackson.
