Reports: ASU safety Evan Fields not expected to play vs. Washington State
Oct 30, 2021, 12:08 PM
Arizona State safety Evan Fields is not warming up prior to the game and is not expected to play vs. Washington State.
Ed Woods and R.J. Regan will not play as well for ASU in the secondary, according to SunDevilSource.com.
Fields is a fifth-year senior and has been a constant for the Sun Devil secondary the past few years. This will be Fields’ third missed game, totaling 23 tackles on the season.
The safety missed the Sun Devils’ most recent game against Utah. The team followed the loss with a bye week, so it was hoping to be full strength heading into the game.
Fields’ hamstring injury has been bothering him for a good part of the season as he missed yet another week of practice this week.
Kejuan Markham has seen his minutes increase when Fields has been unable to go in previous games.
The Sun Devils will get cornerback Chase Lucas (back) and wide receiver Johnny Wilson (hamstring) back from injury for the matchup.
ASU will face Washington State at 12:20 p.m. Catch all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
