The Arizona Cardinals re-signed long snapper Aaron Brewer to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.

Additionally, punter Andy Lee agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

The terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Originally joining the team in 2016, Brewer has spent the past six seasons in the Valley. This marks the second contract with the Cardinals for Brewer, having signed a four-year extension back in 2018.

Brewer missed three games in 2021 after suffering a broken arm midseason. There was a noticeable downturn in special teams play with Brewer sidelined and Arizona forced to add another starting long snapper on the fly.

Before joining the Cardinals, Brewer was with the Denver Broncos from 2012-15.

Lee returns to the Cardinals after appearing in 16 games this past season. Since heading to the desert in 2017, the punter paces the NFL with a 47.6-yard punting average.

This past year, Lee kicked 51 punts, averaging 49 yards an attempt. He also posted a long of 62 yards.

Before his time in Arizona, Lee was a member of the San Francisco 49ers (2004-2014), Cleveland Browns (2015) and Carolina Panthers (2016).

The re-signings solidify the team’s special teams unit with Lee, Brewer and kicker Matt Prater all under contract through next season.

With Brewer as his long snapper last season, Prater was 26-of-31 on field goal attempts and 42-of-43 in extra-point tries.

The signings come after Arizona agreed to a new one-year deal with tight end Maxx Williams on Wednesday. The Cardinals also signed former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Jeff Gladney to a two-year contract and released defensive lineman Jordan Phillips, who is reportedly signing with the Buffalo Bills, on the same day.
