D-backs INF Sergio Alcantara to be active Thursday vs. Rockies

Infielder Sergio Alcantara has reported to the team and will be active for the Arizona Diamondbacks’ matchup against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday.
Alcantara was claimed off of waivers from the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.
Additionally, the team outrighted INF Cole Tucker and optioned INF Jake Hager to Triple-A Reno, leaving an open slot on the 40-man roster.
Alcantara returns to the D-backs after spending 23 games (15 starts) with the organization from April 7 to May 4.
During that span (57 plate appearances), the infielder hit .189 with a .521 OPS. He recorded 10 hits, seven RBIs and a walk while striking out 13 times.
He was eventually designated for assignment on May 6 before getting claimed off waivers by the Padres three days later.
Over 22 games played with San Diego (38 plate appearances), Alcantara hit .114 with a .272 OPS. He recorded four hits, three RBIs and two walks. He struck out 12 times.
The Padres designated Alcantara for assignment on June 30.
The infielder has played at shortstop, third base and second base for both teams this season.
Hager has seen 28 games at the big-league level in 2022. He’s hitting .240 with a .625 OPS and has recorded 12 hits, three RBIs and eight walks while striking out 17 times.
Tucker was claimed off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 5 and has spent the entirety of his time in Reno.
