The Arizona Cardinals used standard practice squad elevations on wide receiver Andre Baccellia and cornerback Jace Whittaker Saturday for Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Whittaker has been elevated three weeks in a row to start this season, which is the limit. The Cardinals would have to sign Whittaker to the 53-man roster in order for him to play for them again this season.
The third-year player has lined up for 54 defensive snaps this year, already a career high. He’s been targeted nine times, allowing six completions for 63 yards.
The Cardinals’ secondary will get a boost this week, as cornerback Trayvon Mullen Jr. will make his Arizona debut.
Baccellia fills in as Rondale Moore (hamstring) has been ruled out for another week.
The former Washington Huskies standout joins a position group with Marquise Brown, A.J. Green, Greg Dortch and Andy Isabella for Sunday’s game.
Baccellia has played in each of Arizona’s opening two games (27 offensive snaps) and has two receptions for 12 yards.
He caught a touchdown pass during the preseason.
