ASU’s Cameron Marshall a Doak Walker Award candidate

Arizona State running back Cameron Marshall was named as a candidate for the 2011 Doak Walker Award, the school announced Friday. The award is given annually to the nation’s best college running back.
A junior, Marshall has rushed for 1,081 career yards on 214 carries. He’s run for 11 scores and caught 31 passes for 271 yards and one touchdown.
In its 22nd year, the recipient of the 2011 Doak Walker award will be determined by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee. They will narrow down the list of finalists by November 21 and then, starting November 28, will vote to determine the winner, which will be announced December 8.
Other Pac-12 candidates are Arizona’s Keola Antolin, UCLA’s Jonathan Franklin, Oregon’s LaMachael James, Washington’s Chris Polk and Stanford’s Stepfan Taylor.
