Terrell Suggs: Instant hero to millions

Jan 23, 2012, 10:09 PM | Updated: 10:41 pm

Just a day after losing out on a chance to play in his
first Super Bowl, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell
Suggs showed his resiliency while becoming a mouthpiece
for what millions of sports fans feel on Monday.

Suggs, the former Arizona State Sun Devil, appeared on
ESPN’s First Take, which has seemingly become a vehicle
for the debate-style
ramblings of panelist Skip Bayless.

While being interviewed over the telephone, Bayless
appears to interrupt Suggs by
intimating that the Patriots may have received
preferential treatment from the officiating crew during
New England’s 23-20 AFC-clinching win.

Suggs would have nothing of it.

“No, I’m not saying that,” Suggs responded. “And Skip,
stop that. I know what you’re doing.”

Suggs then continued to warn Bayless about not being
genuine with what guests are trying to say. “You get away
with misinterpretations and putting words in people’s
mouths,” Suggs said. “I’m not going to let you get away
with it this time.”

Suggs has been a frequent guest of First Take and has
mixed it up with Bayless before, but the reaction to
Suggs’ name-calling of Bayless immediately became the talk
of the day on Twitter.
