The Arizona Cardinals announced on Thursday that University of Phoenix Stadium will have a new audio system in place for the 2016 season.
Beginning with the preseason games in August, Cardinals fans will enjoy an upgraded audio experience. The new system will use state-of-the-art technology and will provide fans with better audio clarity.
“There’s no doubt that this will have a profound impact on the fan experience,” Cardinals President Michael Bidwill said in a press release. “As much as the stadium’s visual presentation was improved by the recently upgraded scoreboards, this project’s impact on the audio presentation will be just as significant, if not more so.”
The audio system is funded by the Cardinals and the replacement of the old system is currently underway.
A main point of emphasis of the new system is that it will deliver sound to the entire stadium at once, which will eliminate delays and echoes .
The Cardinals have sold out all 104 games at University of Phoenix Stadium since its opening in 2006. It has also hosted the Fiesta Bowl each year since 2007, three college football National Championship games, Super Bowl XLII and XLIX, a Pro-Bowl and will host the 2017 Final Four.
