In just two seasons, New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has placed his name among the NFL’s elites.

The 23-year-old has caught 187 passes for 2,755 yards and 25 touchdowns, and his one-handed grabs are are a regular sight on highlight shows.

Up to this point, few defensive backs have been able to slow the Pro Bowler, and while he’s not saying any cornerbacks will be able to shut him down, he does have a guy in mind who he believes would pose the biggest challenge.

“I think the best cornerback in the league, I haven’t got the experience to play against — Patrick Peterson,” said in a SkySports panel. “By far just one of the best in the game, hands down. He’s going to follow you from your house to his house, from the sideline to the cricket field and back.

“He’s one of the best in the game and I remember my rookie year we had him Week 2 and I was injured and I just could just never get back on the field and I was trying to rush back to play him because this is the man; you obviously want to go against the best, always, always. In my eyes he’s the best corner in the league.”

Peterson has been to five Pro Bowls (four as a cornerback), and is coming off what is easily his best season. Multiple publications have ranked him as, if not the best cornerback in the NFL, one of the top two or three, and in 2015 opposing quarterbacks rarely threw the ball his way. He finished the season with 35 tackles, two interceptions, 10 passes defensed and a forced fumble.

Barring a playoff matchup it will be a little while before Beckham Jr. gets his first shot at Peterson, as the Cardinals are not set to face the Giants in the 2016 regular season.
